Civil Supervisor for Large‑Scale Construction Projects

About the role

The Civil Supervisor will plan, organise, lead and control site operations for the Snowy 2.0 pumped‑hydro project, ensuring safety, cost, time, quality, environmental and community targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings, programs and specifications; supervise work and give clear instructions to minimise re‑work.
• Assist in developing and monitoring short‑term (3‑week) programs and forecasts for the assigned scope.
• Identify critical‑path tasks, report risks or delays and proactively mitigate them.
• Conduct accurate shift handovers and foster a “One Team” culture across site crews and subcontractors.
• Mentor apprentices and trainees, manage day‑to‑day performance, and resolve IR/ER issues.
• Ensure safe placement of materials, plant and equipment and compliance with environmental and hazardous‑substance controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction, preferably on large‑scale concrete or tunnel projects.
• Experience managing subcontractor and self‑perform crews.
• Trade qualified with a White Card and C‑class driver’s licence.
• Positive “can‑do” attitude, strong problem‑solving and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Concrete construction techniques.
• Tunnel construction and associated concrete structures.
• High‑risk works licence (desirable).
• Certificate 4 in Civil Construction Supervision (desirable).
