Civil Supervisor – Bucket-Wheel Reclaimer Project

About the role

The project covers the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of three new bucket-wheel reclaimers, together with associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services, and the off-board civil infrastructure such as bulk earthworks and electrical upgrades. As Civil Supervisor you will monitor and organise subcontractor planning, safety, quality and technical activities on a complex project with many stakeholders, coordinating and instructing subcontractor management staff so that work fits the overall schedule and is carried out safely.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and organise subcontractor activities through coordination and instruction of subcontractor management staff
• Plan: monitor subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts and material and equipment requirements; review construction methods, schedules and manning charts; coordinate construction impacts on external interfaces
• Safety and quality: monitor installation of materials and equipment against drawings, specifications and vendor requirements; enforce field construction management policies, procedures and work rules
• Technical support: help Construction Field Engineers, foremen and craft professionals interpret engineering, vendor and other technical documents; coordinate engineering solutions and constructability issues with subcontractors, foremen, craft professionals and design

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
• 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment

Required skills

• Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation
• Knowledge of supervisory functions for field civil activities and of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs)
• Knowledge of contracts and the works contractor's responsibilities in contract documents
• Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and databases under Bechtel BSAP standards
