Civil Labourer – ITS & Traffic Control Projects

About the role

The Civil Labourer will support Yunex Traffic’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Traffic Control Systems (TCS) projects across the operations and maintenance portfolio. Working mainly on‑site in Sydney, you will construct, modify and reconstruct traffic‑related assets while adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Construct and reconstruct assets such as Traffic Control Signals, Variable Message Signs and Hazard warning signs.
• Perform electrical testing on ITS equipment.
• Prepare equipment (e.g., traffic signal controllers, vehicle detection systems) for final installation.
• Install, modify and commission new and existing TCS and ITS assets.
• Liaise with customers and other contractors on site.
• Ensure all works meet site specifications, are completed on time and to high quality.
• Follow company health and safety policies and identify potential hazards.

Required profile

• Willingness to work a flexible shift pattern (approximately 70% night, 30% day) and overtime as needed.
• Ability to complete mandatory technical and safety training.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self‑motivated, cooperative and able to adapt to changing tasks.
