Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Biotech – $250k+ Super

About the role

An innovative biotechnology organisation is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership during a pivotal growth phase. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the CFO will shape financial strategy, secure funding, and support commercial expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in partnership with the executive team.
• Lead long‑term planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and cash‑flow management.
• Provide commercial insights, financial modelling, scenario analysis and investment evaluations for strategic decisions.
• Oversee procurement, inventory financial controls, foreign‑exchange exposure and liquidity planning.
• Partner with the CEO on funding strategy, capital raising and investor relations.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in biotech or life‑sciences.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to influence board‑level decisions.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic approach and comfort working in an agile SME environment.
