Chief Finance Officer

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its Finance and Procurement and Supply Chain portfolios and help shape the sustainability, performance and growth of the health service. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, the CFO is the principal financial adviser, advising the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board and Finance and Audit Committee. The role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise in financial control, statutory reporting, treasury, procurement governance and supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management and financial modelling
• Identify and optimise funding opportunities and strengthen revenue integrity
• Advise on Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting, financial governance and compliance
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, audits and Department of Health reporting requirements
• Lead financial risk management, internal controls and assurance processes
• Oversee procurement governance, strategic sourcing, contract management and supply chain operations
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and data-driven decision-making
• Build capability and financial literacy across Finance and Procurement and Supply Chain teams

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualified professional with significant experience leading finance functions in a large, complex organisation
• Proven ability to advise Executive leaders, Boards and governance committees
• Experience leading complex budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and funding optimisation
• Experience leading procurement governance, strategic sourcing and supplier management is highly regarded

• Advanced knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
• Treasury management, financial planning and governance and compliance
• Financial risk management, internal controls and assurance frameworks
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
