Chef - St Gregory's College Cafe

About the role

Cater Care is seeking a dedicated Chef to lead breakfast and lunch culinary operations for students and staff at St Gregory's College in Campbelltown. You will prepare nutritious meals, manage daily kitchen production and uphold strict food safety standards in a structured, fast-paced environment. The roster is Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prep and serve hot and cold meals for 500+ students and staff, with balanced nutrition and appealing presentation.
• Manage morning kitchen production, including high-volume batch cooking, ingredient assembly and café counter replenishment.
• Oversee allergen safety and special dietary needs, preparing gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-aware meals with zero cross-contamination.
• Maintain an immaculate work area and comply fully with HACCP and statutory food safety rules, including daily temperature checks and sanitisation.
• Assist with stock control, inventory receiving and minimising food waste.
• Work with the Cafe Manager and kitchen team during peak periods to keep service on time.

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery and an active Food Safety Supervisor certification.
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) for NSW, or willingness to obtain one before starting.
• Proven experience in high-volume catering, commercial kitchens or school/institutional food service.
• Punctual, reliable and comfortable working consistent early morning shifts.
