Chef - Room Service Catering

About the role

Bayside Health, a public health service covering metropolitan Melbourne and surrounding areas, is hiring a Chef for its room service food delivery model in Frankston, Victoria. The Chef prepares, cooks, presents and serves high-quality meals for patients, staff and visitors, working as part of the Food Services team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals to order according to approved menus, therapeutic diet requirements, food safety standards and quality expectations.
• Monitor food quality and safety.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Support stock control processes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, infection prevention, workplace health and safety and organisational policies.
• Work with Food Services colleagues and healthcare staff to support a safe, efficient and patient-focused dining experience.

Required profile

• Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery.
• Food Safety Handler Certificate HLTFSE001 (post 2015).
• Experience in a large-scale industrial kitchen (desirable).
• Flexible and creative when dealing with problems.
• Availability on weekends.
