Chef - Remote Mining Camp (14:7 Roster)

About the role

Sodexo is looking for experienced chefs to join its remote operations at a mining camp near Cooma, NSW. You will prepare meals in a busy, high-volume catering environment that helps keep mining communities running safely and efficiently. The work is done in bus-in-bus-out shifts on a 14 days on, 7 days off roster, with 11-hour days. Opportunities are casual with the possibility of permanent placement for high performers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals across breakfast, crib and dinner services
• Work in a high-volume catering environment
• Maintain food safety and HACCP standards
• Deliver consistent quality and presentation
• Work as part of a supportive kitchen team

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
• Experience in bulk catering or high-volume kitchens
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work in remote environments and varying weather conditions
• Full Australian working rights
• Must pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test

Required skills

• Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge
• HACCP standards
