Chef - Kalgoorlie Residential

About the role

MLG Oz is seeking an experienced chef for a permanent, full-time residential role in Kalgoorlie. Reporting to the Accommodation Manager, you will deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for 65+ people every day. The role is based in Kalgoorlie and is not available on a FIFO basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast or dinner meals
• Plan and organise menus and cater to dietary requirements and preferences
• Maintain excellent food quality, presentation and consistency
• Manage stock, order supplies and control food wastage
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and efficient
• Support the team during busy meal service periods
• Clean and sanitise equipment and work areas

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Previous experience in bulk catering or high-volume kitchens
• Australian citizenship or unrestricted Australian working rights
• Willingness to provide a national police clearance issued within the last 6 months

What we offer

• Permanent, full-time position of 38 hours per week
• 10-hour shifts on a rotating breakfast and dinner roster
• Breakfast 2:30am - 12:30pm, dinner 11:00am - 9:00pm
