Charge-Up Operator – Underground Gold Mining

About the role

Catalyst Metals is expanding its underground gold operation at the Plutonic Mine. The Charge‑Up Operator will safely charge development headings and stopes to design specifications, ensuring high‑quality blasting outcomes that support consistent production.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport, handle and charge explosives in underground development and production environments.
• Load blast holes to design specifications and install initiation systems according to procedures.
• Conduct pre‑charge inspections, verify ground conditions and maintain accurate explosive usage records.
• Collaborate with drillers, supervisors and blasting engineers to support safe blast clearance and firing.

Required profile

• Current Shotfirer's Licence or recognised explosives handling certification.
• Current Dangerous Goods Security Card and Manual C‑Class Driver’s Licence.
• Proven experience in underground charge‑up or blasting operations.
• Strong commitment to safety, procedures and risk awareness.
