Chair Exercise Volunteer: Support Active Ageing

About the role

HammondCare is looking for a Chair Exercise Volunteer to support active ageing. You will help the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team run seated exercise classes for aged care residents, encouraging participation and helping people feel included. Classes are held on Monday mornings at 10:00am, with volunteers present from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with set-up before each class
• Support residents during the seated exercise session
• Create a positive, welcoming atmosphere and encourage participation
• Help with pack-down after the class

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Friendly, reliable nature and a passion for helping others thrive; no fitness qualifications required
• Interviews and orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which connects elderly people with local volunteers. Interested applicants are contacted by phone or text, or by email if contact by phone is not possible.
