Centre Director – Early Childhood Education

About the role

The Centre Director will lead Nido Early School Aveley’s vibrant 92‑place service, overseeing six classrooms and three outdoor play areas. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape a Reggio Emilia‑inspired learning environment while growing your own leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for a 92‑place early childhood centre, including six rooms and three outdoor areas.
• Implement and champion the Reggio Emilia approach and ensure compliance with the EYLF and NQS.
• Mentor, guide and support a diverse team of educators, culinary staff, trainees and students.
• Maintain effective communication with families using the Story Park platform.
• Organise regular incursions, excursions and community connections.
• Oversee health, safety and compliance requirements, including First Aid, Gecko child safety training and Working with Children checks.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• 12–18 months of experience in a similar leadership role.
• Valid Working with Children Check, Police Check and willingness to obtain First Aid and Gecko training.
• Strong understanding of the EYLF and NQS frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Story Park communication platform.
• Experience using the ECA Learning Hub for professional development.
• Knowledge of Gecko child safety training procedures.
• First Aid certification.
