Diocesan Director – Perth

About the role

This 12‑month maternity‑cover position is a part‑time (2 days per week) role based in the Perth Diocesan Office, operating under a hybrid model. You will champion Caritas Australia’s mission across the Perth Diocese, working closely with schools, parishes and the wider Catholic community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead diocesan engagement through education, advocacy, fundraising and ecological justice initiatives.
• Build and support a network of parish representatives, Catholic schools and volunteers.
• Design and deliver presentations, workshops and events such as Project Compassion launches.
• Represent Caritas Australia at diocesan events and collaborate with internal teams on fundraising, communications and supporter engagement.

Required profile

• Purpose‑driven professional committed to the mission of ending poverty and injustice.
• Tertiary qualification in Education, Theology, Community Engagement, Communications or equivalent experience delivering faith‑based workshops.
• Proven experience working with diocesan authorities, parishes, schools or community groups on social and ecological justice.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
