Catering Assistant – School Kitchen (Peppermint Grove)

About the role

Join the catering team at PLC Perth – Peppermint Grove and support chefs in delivering fresh, high‑quality meals for boarding students. This hands‑on hospitality position works Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM‑2:00 PM during school terms, serving up to 140 students each day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking, and buffet set‑up and pack‑down.
• Provide friendly, efficient service to students and staff.
• Operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, handle transactions and restock supplies.
• Maintain clean, well‑presented kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing.
• Uphold strict food hygiene and safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in catering or hospitality.
• Friendly, confident and able to engage with customers.
• Reliable, approachable and team‑oriented.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to a busy, changing environment.
• Successful completion of a Working With Children Check.

Required skills
