Category Marketing Manager – Australia

About the role

Whatnot is seeking a Marketing Manager to own growth of a product category in Australia. You will immerse yourself in the community, design authentic campaigns, and drive both acquisition and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Drive user acquisition for the assigned category through campaigns and events that generate community buzz.
• Build and manage a roster of influencers and creators, using influencer marketing as a core performance channel.
• Develop high‑performing paid‑media content in partnership with the creative team.
• Plan and execute digital and in‑person events with sellers and internal teams to boost awareness and supply‑demand metrics.
• Measure effectiveness of initiatives, refine strategy with data, and create market‑specific playbooks.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of consumer or category marketing experience in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
• Proven track record in influencer marketing, driving first‑time buyers at competitive CAC.
• Experience creating performance‑driven content for paid ads.
• Background in planning and executing digital and in‑person events that deliver measurable growth.
• Data‑driven mindset with ability to own end‑to‑end campaigns and optimise based on KPIs.
