Category Account Manager – Home Entertainment

About the role

Sony is seeking an experienced Category Account Manager to lead the Home Entertainment portfolio (TVs and Soundbars) across key retail partners in Australia. The role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne and involves regular travel to support retail accounts and drive category growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build and strengthen relationships with key customers and buyers through strategic account management.
• Develop and execute account plans for major retailers, covering ranging, catalogue placement and promotional activities.
• Identify market opportunities and create monthly, quarterly and annual business plans to meet sales and profit targets.
• Prepare forecasts using sell‑through data, stock‑on‑hand analysis and market insights.
• Coordinate marketing and promotional strategies with retail partners.
• Negotiate commercial investments to maximise sell‑through and ROI.
• Analyse sales performance against budget, monitor trends and implement corrective actions.
• Represent the customer voice within the Category Team and support the Field Sales and distributor teams.

Required profile

• Proven sales track record with strong stakeholder management and commercial acumen.
• Relevant consumer electronics industry experience and product knowledge.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Resilience under tight timelines and business challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PSI / forecasting business modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
