Casual Receptionist / Porter

About the role

Federal Hospitality is hiring a casual Receptionist/Porter for Wrest Point in Coles Bay, Tasmania. This is a full-time casual position where no two days are the same, combining reception and porter duties so that you are one of the first friendly faces guests meet, helping create a welcoming experience from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and check guests in and out
• Assist with enquiries and reservations
• Help guests with their luggage and belongings
• Escort guests to their rooms
• Provide information about the hotel and deliver guest requests throughout the property

Required profile

• Previous experience in a front office, hotel or customer service role is preferred
• Willingness to work across both reception and porter duties
• Flexible approach to a 7-day roster, including weekends, public holidays and evening shifts
• An unrestricted driver's licence, manual or automatic
• Appointees may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks

Required skills

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
• A friendly and welcoming approach to customer service
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Experience with hotel reservation software RMS is preferred but not essential
