Casual Group Facilitator Assistant and Driver

About the role

The Group Facilitator Assistant and Driver supports the delivery of safe, engaging and culturally appropriate group activities for clients, helping group facilitators run the Social Support-Group program (formerly Planned Activity Group). The role reports to the PAG Facilitator and Project Coordinator and is based at AVWA offices.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport clients to and from group activities in a mini bus or approved vehicle, providing mobility assistance and monitoring safety
• Support the Group Facilitator with daily activities, set up and pack down activity spaces and help clients with higher care needs
• Greet clients, support attendance sign-in and fee collection, follow up with absent clients and communicate their feedback
• Assist with catering, inform catering staff of client numbers and dietary needs, supervise volunteers and cooks and manage grocery invoices
• Maintain client attendance records, scan and file documents, record individual support provided and update client progress notes
• Keep compliance records such as fridge temperature logs, fire drill records, first aid kit checks and outing venue inspections
• Assist with quarterly activity planning and provide administrative support to facilitators

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Community Services, Aged Care, Disability or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to support older people and/or people with disabilities in group settings
• Willing to transport elderly clients and willing to drive the AVWA minibus
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Desirable: bilingual skills (Vietnamese/English) and experience in the non-profit or community care sector
