Casual Dispensary Assistant / Technician

About the role

Serco, in partnership with Bupa, delivers clinical and support staff to Australian Defence Force personnel across 50+ on-base locations. As a Casual Dispensary Assistant/Technician at Robertson Health Centre, you will support the Pharmacist in the effective operation of the dispensary. The centre is in Robertson Barracks, Holtze, about 15 km east of Darwin, and serves roughly 2,800 Defence personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with dispensing operations under the supervision of the Pharmacist
• Coordinate the receipt and distribution of incoming stock
• Manage stock rotation and monitor shelf life to optimise inventory use
• Handle the return or disposal of expired or damaged items in line with policy
• Assist with stocktaking of medical and dental supplies in line with Defence policies and procedures
• Provide customer service and general dispensary support as required

Required profile

• Certificate-qualified non-pharmacist Dispensary Assistant/Technician qualification, a Dispensary Technicians Course Certificate, or equivalent
• At least 2 years' full-time experience as a Dispensary Assistant/Technician within the last 5 years
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities
• Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
