Casual Dental Assistant / Receptionist

About the role

Hallett Cove Dental, part of the Abano Healthcare network, is seeking a casual Dental Assistant/Receptionist. The role combines chairside dental assisting with reception duties, with the balance shifting according to the day's needs. Training is provided in whichever area is less experienced. Candidates with previous dental experience are preferred, but a positive attitude, strong reliability and a passion for patient care are also welcomed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside support for general, restorative and implant procedures, including oral surgery
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments to infection control standards
• Welcome patients, manage check-in and check-out, and handle bookings, recalls and phone enquiries
• Process payments, HICAPS claims and health fund enquiries
• Maintain accurate clinical records and assist with stock control and general clinical duties

Required profile

• Previous dental reception or assisting experience preferred, or a strong willingness to learn
• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or higher preferred
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a reliable, organised approach
• Generally available Monday to Saturday for casual shifts
