Casual Cook - Café

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Casual Cook to join a friendly, supportive team in a busy café environment. The cook prepares safe, quality meals for residents and serves them with care, while keeping a high standard of food and service for café customers and functions. The role covers all aspects of health and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present quality meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Maintain food safety, HACCP and WHS standards.
• Manage stock rotation and stock control, and assist with ordering.
• Support café and function service delivery as directed.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests.
• Follow operational procedures, policies and management instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient kitchen.

Required profile

• Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments.
• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent.
• Customer-focused cook with a positive team attitude and attention to detail.
• Preferred: Food Safety or Food Handling certificate, and experience in aged care, hospital or production kitchens.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow structured recipes and food safety procedures.
• Strong time management skills.
