About the role

Join BFS Children’s Services as a Casual Centre Cook, preparing healthy, tasty meals for children aged 0‑5 across our 35 early learning centres. You’ll enjoy flexible shift selection and contribute to a child‑safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals aligned with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
• Adapt menus to suit children’s preferences while meeting health standards.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.

Required profile

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Criminal Record Check.
• Commitment to child safety, cultural safety and wellbeing.
• Positive, fun‑loving attitude with a big smile.

Required skills

• Food Handler Basics Certificate.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Foundations of Child Safety Certificate (GECKO) or willingness to obtain.
• National Child Safety Training Foundation Course completion.
