Carpenter (Formwork & Timber)

About the role

A construction business operating across Western Australia, including the Pilbara region, is looking for a Carpenter through Jobcom. The company builds projects for its clients and places safety first, aiming to finish work on time and within budget. The position is full-time in Belmont, WA.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine formwork and temporary works needs.
• Install and position vertical and horizontal formwork components, including drilling and fitting hold-down bolts and fasteners to walls and floors.
• Communicate with the foreman and supervisors about material needs and order materials.
• Assemble formwork panels on site, including metal props, brackets and clamps.
• Build suspended formwork systems and scaffolding, and remove formwork by physical and mechanical methods.
• Work at heights up to and above 9m.
• Nail fascia panels, sheathe roofs, fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames, and cut wood joints.
• Order and select timbers and materials and prepare layouts.

Required profile

• Certificate III in carpentry with at least one year of relevant experience, or a Certificate IV; three years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the qualification.
• Registration or licensing may be required for this occupation.
• Construction induction (White Card) and a current driver's licence.

Required skills

• Desirable: experience with concrete FRP projects and formwork systems such as Peri, Unispan or Doka.
• Desirable: ability to construct conventional formwork and to read and interpret drawings.
• Desirable: dogging, rigging, working at heights and EWP tickets.
• Strong commitment to working safely and productively.

What we offer
