Carer

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Carer to provide high-quality care and support to residents at its aged care facility, helping them live with dignity and purpose. The role involves assisting with daily tasks, providing emotional support and companionship, and working with healthcare professionals to deliver person-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, grooming and feeding
• Support residents with mobility and physical assistance
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Monitor and document residents' progress so their needs and preferences are met
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to foster a positive, inclusive environment

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent qualification, recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
• NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
• Passion for working with older people and alignment with Anglicare's Christian ethos and values

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining residents' dignity and independence
