Cardiac Nurse – Part‑time Fixed‑term

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a part‑time Cardiac Nurse to join its Cardiac Catheter Laboratories at the City Campus. You will provide patient‑centred nursing care for individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a fast‑paced, specialised environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care, patient education and clinical support throughout the cardiac procedure pathway.
• Escalate clinical risk and contribute to system improvements that enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate timely patient flow and access across the continuum of care.
• Participate in preceptorship, including acting as a preceptor for junior staff.
• Perform nursing interventions and procedures in line with Royal Melbourne Hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience in a cardiology setting.
• Willingness to work a range of shifts within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong time‑management, prioritisation and communication skills.

Required skills

• AHPRA‑registered nursing qualification.
• Experience in cardiac nursing and interventional cardiology procedures.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Cardiac Care (desirable).
