Cafe Shift Lead

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Cafe Shift Lead to oversee daily café operations at its Woolooware Shores site. This full‑time, onsite position involves leading a small team, preparing and serving food, and ensuring a welcoming environment for residents, visitors and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day café operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and customer service.
• Prepare and present meals, snacks and café items, ensuring compliance with resident dietary and IDDSI requirements.
• Provide hands‑on leadership to Café Assistants, including onboarding, on‑the‑job training and performance support.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards in line with HACCP requirements.
• Promote a safe work culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a café, hospitality, food production or kitchen environment.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
• Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Fluent spoken and written English with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Food safety knowledge (HACCP, IDDSI).
• Food preparation and plating.
