Café and Functions Assistant - Taren Point

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for energetic, kind-hearted Café All-Rounders to join its team at the Taren Point village. As a Café and Functions Assistant, you will create a home-like atmosphere for residents while serving coffee and supporting events and activities. The position is open to applicants living within 20 minutes of the location.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver warm, friendly customer service
• Prepare food and beverages, including making espresso coffee
• Operate the POS system and manage payments
• Keep the café tidy, welcoming and ready, from setup to clean-up
• Support events and activities that bring life to the villages

Required profile

• Responsible Service of Alcohol and Working with Children clearances
• 6 months of food service or front-of-house experience, with barista skills
• Empathy for elderly residents, attention to detail and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a kind, team-focused attitude
• Availability across Thursday to Sunday, including nights

Preferred

• Food Handling Certificate
• Hospitality and customer service experience
