Cable Jointer – Western Power Projects

About the role

Ventia is expanding its Western Power contract and needs skilled Cable Jointers to deliver critical network upgrades across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The role offers competitive hourly rates, regional allowances and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute LV cable and pillar terminations, HV switchgear connections, pad‑mounted transformer installations and street‑light or pit terminations.
• Deliver network enhancement and resilience projects for both metro and regional sites.
• Collaborate with crews and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality project delivery.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements on all field activities.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electrical – Power Systems – Distribution Cable Jointing (UET30819 or equivalent).
• Current C‑class driver’s licence.
• Proven experience in distribution cable jointing, including LV and HV work.
• Relevant qualifications such as Paper Lead LV, Paper Lead HV/XLPE, HV and LV switching authorisation on Western Power’s network.
• SACs accreditation.

• Hourly rate $66.80 – $73.54 plus $4.00 regional allowance.
