Buyer – Project Procurement (Brisbane)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to support the delivery of major projects across mining, energy and infrastructure sectors. The role focuses on managing all pre‑award procurement activities, ensuring that materials and equipment are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as custodian for all pre‑award procurement activities for project materials and equipment.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to confirm technical specifications, delivery schedules and logistics requirements.
• Prepare and issue Invitation to Bid (ITB) documentation, including commercial terms and conditions.
• Manage bidder pre‑qualification, selection and approval processes.
• Coordinate and oversee the full tendering process, ensuring probity, confidentiality and compliance.
• Lead commercial evaluations covering pricing structures, Incoterms and payment milestones.
• Review vendor deviations and provide recommendations aligned with contractual requirements.
• Prepare award recommendations and support purchase order execution and hand‑over.

Required profile

• Commercially minded procurement professional with experience in a project environment.
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract law and commercial risk management.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience sourcing capital equipment or materials and managing end‑to‑end bid processes.
• Highly organised, able to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast‑paced setting.
