Buyer - Fashion Retail

About the role

SHEIN, a global online fashion and lifestyle retailer, is looking for a Buyer to build and maintain a balanced product range through reactive product development and category consideration. The role covers sourcing, supplier management, trend research and product optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a balanced product range through reactive product development and category consideration
• Carry out trend research and market analysis to be first to market on the latest trends
• Execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories to meet cost, quality and delivery objectives
• Negotiate pricing, terms and agreements with suppliers and evaluate suppliers using KPIs and scorecards
• Run tailored fit sessions to ensure products are commercially viable and fit for purpose
• Analyse trading data weekly to support strategy decisions, sign-offs and range reviews
• Manage the purchase order lifecycle from requisition to delivery in line with procurement policies
• Optimise products (key search terms, attribution, icons, descriptions) and source components and materials for new product introductions
• Work with PR, Creative, Brand and Management teams and keep procurement and product records in enterprise systems

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience in buying, merchandising or procurement within fashion/retail
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Commercial awareness, proven negotiation skills and strong analytical abilities (weekly trading analysis, cost modelling, spend data)
• Attention to detail, planning and prioritisation, and strong cross-functional communication
• Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Professional certification (APICS, ISM or similar) is a plus

• Proficiency in Excel and similar software
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a plus
