About the role
Verterra is looking for a business graduate to support its operations while helping develop and improve the systems, digital tools and automated workflows that underpin the business. The role suits someone interested in software development, data and automation who enjoys understanding how a business works and turning that into practical improvements. Key responsibilities
- Support business operations and finance: process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs, raise customer invoices, and help with accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end administration.
- Maintain records, compliance registers and document control, and support compliance activities and business reporting.
- Coordinate administrative tasks across finance, operations, projects and risk management, and respond to supplier and internal enquiries.
- Help implement and maintain business systems, including configuration, data entry, data quality checks and user support.
- Map processes, identify ways to reduce manual work, errors and duplication, and document requirements and procedures.
- Test and introduce improvements to financial controls, information management and reporting.
- Assist in designing, building, testing and maintaining simple applications, scripts, dashboards and automated workflows.
- Use Excel, low-code tools and scripting languages such as Python for data processing, reporting and system integration.
- Support practical applications of AI and digital tools, check outputs for accuracy and follow data security, confidentiality and intellectual property requirements.
Required profile
- Degree in business, commerce or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in development and automation, with a willingness to learn coding, digital tools and how business systems work.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and confidence with numbers and data.
- Clear communication, good organisation and a proactive, collaborative approach.
- Right to work permanently in Australia.
Required skills
- Sound Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, and quick learning of new systems.
- Desirable: exposure to Python, SQL, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI or similar; basic accounting or business analysis knowledge.
What we offer
- Permanent position of 38 hours per week.
- Flexible start and finish times.
- Hybrid working with a minimum of three office days from Brisbane CBD.
- Supportive team environment and exposure to finance operations and workflow automation.
