Business Development Representative - Mortgage Broking

About the role

A Brisbane-headquartered offshore staffing and operations business, which has placed more than 1,000 professionals in under four years, is opening a new Sales Development Representative seat in its mortgage broking sales team. The business sells trained professionals to brokerages that are busy with processing, admin, compliance and lender follow-ups, and it is described as a growth partner rather than cheap labour. The role is hybrid and based in Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Own the first conversation with brokerage principals, using a phone-first approach backed by email and LinkedIn sequences
• Respond to inbound website and CRM enquiries within minutes, and qualify, book or disqualify them
• Run qualification calls covering brokerage size, deal volume, where admin is capping growth, current support set-up and decision-making
• Book qualified discovery meetings into the BDMs' calendars with handover notes that let them close in two meetings
• Build and maintain target lists by aggregator, brokerage size and region, and keep the CRM clean
• Receive direct feedback from BDMs on meeting quality and build a career path toward a closing seat

Required profile

• Track record in a high-volume, target-driven role such as SDR, outbound or B2C sales (gyms, solar, telco, energy)
• Comfortable making many calls to business owners and running tight qualification conversations
• Coachability and ambition to move into a closing seat
• Brisbane-based and open to hybrid office days
• Experience prospecting into brokers or finance professionals is helpful but not essential
