Business Development Manager – WA

About the role

SGS Australia is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth across Western Australia. The focus will be on expanding Inspection Services and leveraging the broader SGS Industries portfolio within key sectors such as mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure, defence and industrial markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and progress new business opportunities across the SGS portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with decision‑makers in target industries.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and keep accurate records in the SGS CRM system.
• Support the preparation of tenders, proposals, pricing submissions and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging industry developments.
• Collaborate with Business Managers and operational teams to transition opportunities from sales to delivery.
• Represent SGS at client visits, industry events and promotional activities.

Required profile

• Proven business development and sales experience in technical, industrial or inspection services.
• Strong understanding of Western Australian sectors including mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure, defence and industrial markets.
• Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, support tenders and close deals.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across WA and interstate.
