Business Development Manager - Mechanical Equipment

About the role

Chain & Drives, a supplier of power transmission products such as bearings, gearboxes, conveyor components, chains, couplings and industrial belts, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join its Brisbane office. The role develops new business and grows existing customer relationships in the mining and industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth across Brisbane metro and surrounding areas.
• Carry out regular customer visits and run an effective sales call plan.
• Promote the full range of Chain & Drives products and services.
• Work with internal sales and branch teams to maximise customer opportunities.
• Provide technical and commercial solutions that add value to customers' operations.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity in the CRM system.
• Prepare quotations, follow up opportunities and negotiate outcomes.
• Achieve sales and business development targets and contribute to improving business processes and customer service.

Required profile

• Experience in bearings, power transmission, conveyor systems, industrial products or related industries is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to turn opportunities into long-term customer relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational and time management skills, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Right to live and work in Australia.

Required skills

• Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
