Business Development Manager

About the role

Payo is looking for a results-driven, self-motivated Business Development Manager to join its team in Brisbane CBD. The role involves prospecting new businesses and closing deals with a hybrid working model, and is open to candidates based in Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Introduce and follow up with new contacts and generate new business leads in person, by phone or via Zoom
• Achieve sales targets and KPIs through outbound prospecting (cold calling, email, LinkedIn) and close deals through established networks
• Build and manage an extensive network and develop long-term relationships with institutions and individuals who become supporters and referees
• Use HubSpot to manage the pipeline and report on all sales activity
• Convert leads and grow existing accounts
• Stay up to date with internal and external product developments
• Liaise internally with other departments to support and execute initiatives

Required profile

• Prior sales or BDM experience selling to business owners and purchasing managers in the hospitality industry
• Solid understanding of the sales process, negotiations, contracts and account management
• Deep understanding of the hospitality industry and strong product knowledge to demonstrate to merchants
• Ability to adapt communication style to different partners, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Drive to build a business in a start-up environment

Required skills

• CRM experience, preferably HubSpot (not essential)
• Outbound prospecting and deal closing
