Territory Manager - Optical Medical Devices

About the role

A leading international medical device and equipment company, represented in more than 25 countries across five therapeutic areas, is looking for a Territory Manager to represent it in Brisbane (the majority of the time) and Queensland from Gympie to Tweed Heads. The role involves building relationships with potential new customers and growing business with existing ones.

Key responsibilities

• Use Salesforce (CRM) to plan daily activities, report and plan the territory.
• Analyse customer purchasing data against buying trends and industry benchmarks, and run business development and sales strategies with customers.
• Work in stores with customers' staff to demonstrate, train and support them on products and services, mainly for new customers, special events, product launches and new service implementations such as technology solution installations.
• Run customer product and business development training sessions.
• Develop and run a detailed territory management plan with the support of the National Sales Manager.
• Keep the National Sales Manager informed on calls, competitors and market intelligence.
• Help Product Management and Marketing design marketing programmes, advertising, promotions and internal contests.
• Attend internal and external conferences and training workshops, complete online product and company training and promote products throughout the market.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in optometry or dispensing, plus at least 3 years of experience as an optical dispenser or optometrist.
• Strong desire to move into a commercial sales role in the medical technology industry within a global, leading organisation.
• Excellent English communication and negotiation skills.
• Valid Queensland driver's licence and full Australian working rights.
