Business Development Manager

About the role

Ligentia is expanding its Oceania footprint and seeks a hunter‑focused Business Development Manager to drive new‑business growth across freight forwarding, 3PL warehousing, customs and transport. The role is based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and involves building multi‑service partnerships that deliver real supply‑chain value.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and close new business across the full service offering.
• Own the complete sales cycle from needs assessment to proposal, negotiation, close and implementation support.
• Generate a self‑sourced pipeline through networking, referrals and targeted outreach.
• Grow existing accounts via cross‑sell and up‑sell across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with Operations, Account Management, Customer Service and Solution Design to ensure seamless outcomes.
• Represent Ligentia at industry events and expand professional network.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in freight & logistics or freight forwarding sales; experience in customer service or key account management is a plus.
• Proven success winning and expanding multi‑service accounts across various industry verticals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen, executive presence and ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Highly organised, self‑driven and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel interstate.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
