Business Development Executive - Corporate & MICE

About the role

Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport, a 315-room hotel near Sydney Domestic Airport, is looking for a full-time Business Development Executive to join its Sales team. The role focuses on identifying, targeting and securing new Corporate and MICE business, and growing existing accounts to increase room nights, meetings, conferences and event revenue. It works closely with the Sales, Conference & Events, Revenue and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new Corporate and MICE business and build a strong pipeline of sales opportunities.
• Build relationships with key clients, event organisers, PCOs and associations, and conduct client meetings, presentations, site inspections and familiarisation visits.
• Grow existing accounts and reactivate dormant and lapsed ones.
• Prepare proposals and quotations, assist with tenders and RFPs, and negotiate commercial terms.
• Develop business across the Sydney Airport precinct and wider Sydney market, and attend networking events, trade shows and sales missions.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and meet individual sales, room-night and MICE revenue targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in business development, hotel or corporate sales, MICE sales, account management or a related sales role; hospitality, events, travel or tourism experience highly regarded.
• A qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Tourism or Event Management is advantageous.
• Proactive, commercially focused approach with strong sales, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness, organisational skills and attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of the Corporate and/or MICE market is highly regarded.
• Current NSW driver licence is advantageous.
