Business Analyst - Power BI & Reporting (Hybrid, Contract)

About the role

A major university transformation initiative focused on improving insights is looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong dashboard and reporting expertise. The role translates business needs into reporting and dashboard solutions, working with stakeholders, project teams and developers to deliver consistent, trusted and transparent planning and admissions information. It is advertised as a contract position in Brisbane with a hybrid model (2-3 days onsite); fully remote and interstate applicants will not be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder engagement workshops to capture and analyse reporting and dashboard requirements.
• Define business needs, KPIs and key metrics for reporting solutions.
• Translate business objectives into clear requirements and dashboard specifications.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria and test cases.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and developers.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support issue resolution.
• Support change management, training and adoption of new reporting solutions.
• Ensure reporting solutions meet data governance, compliance and quality standards.

Required profile

• Strong business analysis experience focused on Power BI or similar BI/reporting platforms.
• Proven ability to gather, document and prioritise reporting requirements.
• Experience defining business metrics, KPIs and reporting outcomes.
• Experience facilitating UAT and validating delivered solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
