Building Manager

About the role

Cambridge Management Services is seeking a Building Manager to handle repairs and maintenance of common property and keep shared facilities, infrastructure and amenities safe, functional and well maintained. The role reports to the Branch Manager and acts as the main contact for repairs and maintenance and the link between clients and contractors, supported by a team of administration and onsite assistants. It includes remote facilities management and site visits to two sites, one in Golden Beach and one in Maroochydore.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and fix critical maintenance issues to keep essential building systems safe and working
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and build strong relationships
• Take part in regular meetings with management, clients and contractors and give updates on building operations
• Develop and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for preventative maintenance
• Prepare and negotiate new contracts and service agreements
• Ensure compliance with local regulations through regular audits and inspections
• Handle emergencies and urgent issues, communicating clearly with tenants and stakeholders

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Building Manager or similar role in strata
• Solid understanding of building systems, facilities management and maintenance best practice
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations and safety standards
• Willingness to be available for emergencies and after-hours calls on a roster
• Legally entitled to work in Australia
