Building Maintenance Technician – Handyman (Greater Sydney)

About the role

Avanti Projects is seeking a reliable Building Maintenance Technician (Handyman) to join its on‑site team in the Greater Sydney Area. You will be responsible for a variety of upkeep and repair tasks across commercial properties, ensuring each site remains safe, functional and presentable.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve minor building issues, both scheduled and reactive.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing and electrical fixes.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, adhering to WHS guidelines.
• Report progress and any concerns to project managers.
• Coordinate with other trades and follow company safety procedures.
• Travel between multiple sites as required, providing courteous service to clients.

Required profile

• Strong general maintenance experience, preferably with a trade qualification.
• Ability to read and follow job instructions, work orders and simple plans.
• Commitment to safe work practices and clean, organized workspaces.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
• Proven reliability, time‑management and ability to work independently or in a small team.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Greater Sydney.
