Bridge Engineer / Senior Bridge Engineer

About the role

An engineering and asset management firm serving Australia's transport and infrastructure sectors is expanding its Brisbane team after recent project wins. Working closely with the State Manager, the engineer delivers complex projects focused on existing bridges and other civil structures, with responsibilities covering inspection, analysis, design and client coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, carry out and report on structural inspections of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other structures
• Undertake structural modelling and analysis, and load rating and load capacity assessments for concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures
• Prepare engineering recommendations, including reports, concept and detailed designs, feasibility studies and repair or strengthening options
• Coordinate projects, including client engagement and stakeholder management
• Write technical engineering reports and perform quality assurance checks on your own work
• Contribute to tenders and proposals, including methodology, program and fee inputs
• Support and guide graduate engineers and technical staff
• Build strong client relationships and share knowledge internally and in industry forums

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering
• RPEQ registration
• CPEng or progress towards Chartered status
• Approximately 4 to 8 years of experience as a bridge engineer in a consulting environment
• Experience in the inspection, assessment and remedial design of bridges and other civil structures
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Interest in data-driven engineering and turning insight into value for clients
