Boilermaker – Heavy Engineering Fabrication

About the role

Choice One is recruiting experienced Boilermakers for its client, a heavy engineering fabricator serving the Defence, Resources and Industrial sectors. The work is based in the Henderson industrial area (south of the river) and involves high-level plate work, structural fabrication, air gouging and coded welding. The position is on 10-hour shifts, five days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out heavy fabrication, structural modification and welding to strict ISO quality and welding standards
• Work with carbon steels and exotic alloys, including pipe spooling and structural plate work layout
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints
• Maintain a productive workflow to meet project timelines and milestones
• Liaise with workshop supervisors and QA/QC teams on daily production targets
• Follow workshop safety protocols, hazard identification and quality control procedures

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or similar
• Valid Fire Sentry (FS) certification (essential)
• Proven experience in high-specification heavy engineering workshops or industrial fabrication
• Ability to handle high-pressure workflows and tight site-driven timelines
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and reliable attendance
