About the role
Dawsons Group of Companies is looking for an experienced Boilermaker Fabricator / Welder to join its team in Cairns, QLD, for an immediate start on a major heavy structural steel and platework package. The role suits a trade-qualified professional who enjoys heavy-gauge fabrication, high-quality welding and reading complex engineering drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble heavy structural steel sections and heavy platework.
- Interpret technical engineering drawings and structural blueprints accurately.
- Perform high-quality welding (Flux-Cored Arc Welding / FCAW and GMAW) to strict structural standards.
- Use heavy workshop machinery including grinders, oxy-cutters and overhead cranes.
- Maintain rigorous safety standards on site and in the workshop.
