Belt Picker Operator (Afternoon Shift)

About the role

InfraBuild Recycling, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is looking for Belt Pickers at its Hemmant site. You will pick and sort scrap metal from a conveyor belt, contributing to the performance of the Infrabuild Recycling business. This is an afternoon shift role, 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and sort scrap metals from a running conveyor belt
• Remove contaminants to maintain material quality
• Monitor conveyor belt speed and functionality
• Notify maintenance or supervisors of mechanical issues
• Follow workplace safety procedures
• Keep the yard and operational areas clean

Required profile

• Ability to learn quickly and accurately identify different types of metal
• Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is advantageous
• Ability to work in a fast-paced yard environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Passion for working in a collaborative team
