Banking & Finance Derivatives Counsel

About the role

Axiom Law is seeking experienced Banking, Finance & Derivatives lawyers to join its network and advise leading clients across the financial services sector. You will work on complex financing and financial markets matters, including corporate and structured lending, treasury, OTC derivatives and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on banking, finance, treasury and derivatives matters, delivering commercially focused legal guidance.
• Prepare, review, negotiate and manage complex financing and trading documentation such as loan agreements, security arrangements, ISDA and collateral agreements.
• Lead negotiations with financial institutions, corporate borrowers, lenders and counterparties to facilitate financing and derivatives transactions.
• Provide legal and regulatory advice to ensure compliance while balancing commercial objectives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to support transaction execution and regulatory initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Australia with substantial experience in banking, finance and derivatives.
• Proven track record advising on complex financing, structured finance, treasury, cross‑border transactions and OTC derivatives.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for loan agreements, LMA documentation, security, collateral and ISDA documents.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and analytical abilities.
