Autism Employment Consultant

About the role

The Autism Association AIM employment program is Australia's leading autism specialist employment program and is hiring full-time Employment Consultants for its Job Search/Marketing roles. The role empowers and motivates job seekers on their employment pathway, focusing on building relationships with employers and breaking down employment barriers. It is a full-time permanent position based in Subiaco.

Key responsibilities

• Support autistic job seekers to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to find employment.
• Market the strengths of participants with autism to potential employers.
• Advocate for stakeholder collaboration, provide support services and monitor program effectiveness.
• Foster acceptance and understanding of individuals with ASD.
• Deliver a high-quality, individualised service while following strict guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Complete administrative requirements such as maintaining employer data, records and job search activity logs.

Required profile

• Familiarity with employment challenges faced by people with a disability.
• Proven marketing skills to engage and maintain employer relationships, with the ability to meet targets.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with job seekers with autism.
• Creative thinking, negotiation and stakeholder influence skills.
• Passion for educating the wider community about employment challenges and stigma.
• First Aid certificate (HLTAID011), including a current HLTAID009 component.
• Working with Children's Check and a valid driver's licence.
• Experience with a DES IT system is highly desirable; NDIS Workers Check clearance is required.
