Assurance Advisor

About the role

icare provides insurance and care to people, businesses and communities across NSW. As an Assurance Advisor in Sydney CBD, you will help strengthen the organisation's risk and compliance environment by delivering assurance activities that give confidence in how key controls are designed and operating. You will work with stakeholders at all levels, turning complex concepts into clear insights and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assurance reviews and control testing across a range of business functions and risk areas
• Partner with stakeholders to identify key controls, assess their effectiveness and strengthen risk and compliance outcomes
• Lead and support projects, deep-dives and assurance activities focused on high-risk or emerging areas
• Analyse information and prepare clear, practical reports with findings and recommendations
• Build trusted relationships across the organisation to support a positive risk and compliance culture
• Contribute to continuous improvement of governance frameworks, controls and business practices
• Provide objective challenge and insight to support informed decision-making

Required profile

• Experience in assurance, audit, risk management, compliance or a related governance function
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
• Australian working rights; the role is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens with a current passport, and requires completion of standard pre-employment checks
• Experience in insurance, financial services, government, consulting or professional services is highly regarded

Required skills

• Ability to assess complex information, apply sound judgement and solve control or compliance challenges
• Strong written communication and reporting skills
• Confidence to engage and influence stakeholders across levels of an organisation
