About the role

As an Associate/Technical Director – Project Leadership & Controls in Aurecon’s Queensland Transport team, you will lead high‑impact transport projects from concept through delivery, shaping innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions for Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex engineering projects from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges.
• Provide high‑quality advice that informs strategic decisions.
• Contribute to resilient and innovative engineering solutions.
• Apply advanced analytics and optimisation techniques to enhance project performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience with a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation, preferably in roads and highways.
• Proven leadership ability to inspire and mentor high‑performing teams.
• Forward‑thinking mindset with a passion for sustainable, innovative solutions.
• Deep understanding of the transport sector and ability to influence technical direction.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for building internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Ability to see the big picture and challenge assumptions.
