Associate/Senior Associate Environmental & Planning Professional

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for an Associate/Senior Associate Environmental and/or Planning Professional to join Jacobs' Brisbane based Environmental Planning and Approvals Team. You will lead environmental impact assessments and approvals for a diverse pipeline of projects across transport, renewable energy, power, water and Defence.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with clients from project inception to develop environmental approval strategies and define assessment requirements.
• Manage planning and environmental studies, specialist investigations and survey programs.
• Lead environmental impact assessments across a range of sectors and project scales.
• Prepare high‑quality environmental approval and planning applications, referral documentation and management plans.
• Oversee project delivery, budgets, schedules and client expectations.
• Contribute to bids and proposal preparation and mentor early‑career professionals.

Required profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or related discipline.
• 8‑15 years experience in environmental impact assessment and approvals within Queensland.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approvals processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational and project management capabilities.
• Commitment to mentoring junior team members.
